Hello.

First impressions. They are very important. The issue, then, is mine.

Like a binary tree, where the goal is to find an object. Choosing the correct first branch results in, at worst, finding items that share 50% of the object's characteristics. The incorrect first branch leads to peril, where, at best, items share 50% of the object's characteristics. Each successive correct branch leads one closer to the object, and with it a 50% more accurate representation of the object. There are many levels of branches. So many, that one would be impossibly infallible to follow all correct branches.

Now, I am quite sure you are on the correct first branch.

I live in California. A state on the Pacific coast of the United States, with the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles in the south, opposed by the towering redwood trees in the north, connected by the Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco in the middle. I live nearest the middle, in the Silicon Valley - the technology capital of the world.

I did not always live in the Silicon Valley. In December of 2000 I graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, ending a fifteen year segment of my life as a citizen of Texas near and in Austin. Prior to Texas, I lived near Detroit, Michigan for seven years, where I was born.

I have visited many places, both state side and abroad. During 2004 I traveled abroad to England, Holland, Hungary, Austria, and Italy. During 2005 I visited Thailand and Vietnam. I have plans to visit more of Europe and Asia, but first my desires will fly me to explore other parts of the world. The southern hemisphere is of particular interest. Where summer is celebrated as the northern hemisphere slumbers through winter.

Tôi nói tiéng Việt. I speak Vietnamese. Yo hablo Español. I speak Spanish.

In the Silicon Valley, I work as a computer engineer for very small computer software company, RingCube Technologies. Our goal is to change the way you use your computer. For the more than five years prior, I worked at Network Appliance. Network Appliance makes large computers. You use their computers everyday of your life. Many analysts have pegged Network Appliance as the next behemoth in the computer field, akin to Cisco and Sun.

I am an idealist. There is no problem that can not be solved. There is no injustice that can not be righted. There is no goal that can not be attained. There is nothing that can not be changed. Yet, change often works slowly.

I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I am both conservative and liberal. I am very opinionative and open-minded. I am positive all my opinions are correct, until they are proved incorrect.

Happiness is everything to me. Life is nothing, if not decades of happiness and helping others be happy. I am twice lucky in that I have found, atleast for now, what it is that makes me happy and that I have the capacity to change that which does not. There are many people that are not born into such a fortunate position. A few hours of each week I volunteer to help them, as best I am able to, find a better lot in life through various volunteer programs. By myself, my volunteering makes almost no difference in a country of 300 million citizens. Yet, I envision a time when all citizens capable of volunteering a few hours each week, do so.

Technology fascinates me. In it, I see the answer to all of life's answerable questions. Much like how a poet sees answers in poem, how a preacher sees answers in prayer, and how a craftsman sees answers in his or her craft.
